The Reverend Doctor Jerome Stembridge is an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the Pastor of the St. Paul AME Church located in East Orange, New Jersey. Prior to his appointment in June 2015 he served as the Bethel AME Church located in Far Rockaway, New York for 6 years During his tenure in Far Rockaway he led in the revitalization of the church and community following Superstorm Sandy where they provided assistance to over 6,000 families within the community. Following the relief efforts he led the church in in their renovations where upon completion in November 2013 they had no debt following the completion. During his 8 plus years as a Pastor he has revitalized the churches he has served with a focus on discipleship, stewardship, and community service. 

Rev. Stembridge holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from the City University of New York Graduate Center, Master of Divinity degree from the New Brunswick Theological Seminary, where he also served for 3 years as the Student Representative for the New York Campus, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Transformational Preaching from the New Brunswick Theological Seminary. In April 2007 he began his pastoral ministry at the Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Princeton, NJ. During his tenure he led the congregation in its spiritual renewal and physical restoration. Also as a community partner he worked extensively with the Franklin Township community in their recognition of African American history and accomplishments within the area and participated in their Black History celebrations & excursions. In April 2009 he was transferred to the New York Annual Conference where he assumed the pastorate of the Bethel AME Church. At Bethel he saw the necessity for better financial management and physical restoration where along with the membership within 6 years they renovated major areas of the church and installed a sound and technology ministry for the church school and worship services.

Rev. Stembridge is active with a number of community and national groups in the causes of justice & equality advocating for the poor, undereducated, and marginalized. He continues to also teach workshops and courses in church leadership, finance, and doctrine. He is an avid comic book collector and science fiction reader. He is the proud husband of Kimberly Stembridge, his partner in life & ministry, and they reside in Roselle, NJ.
